Man Cave Design to Reality
Some of the most important steps in designing work for a client are taking their ideas, putting them on paper then bringing that idea to reality. That's what we did when designing this man cave.
Our client had specific things he wanted for his man cave: A magnificently incredible bar, plenty of room for a sleek pool table, a stand-alone fireplace, a big-screen gaming area, lounge area with super comfy seating and loads of TV screens.
For the back of the bar, he knew he wanted a wall with back-lighting. We discussed a variety of materials and the one he kept coming back to was tornado agate. The backlit tornado agate wall became the center piece that everything else wrapped around.
Liquor cabinets bookend each side, with chillers to the outside of each liquor cabinet. Oh, and the aren't run of the mill cabinets. The "doors" of the cabinet are rolled metal grid that mechanically roll up and down from the top with a switch to all or deny access to the liquor. Pretty awesome.
As decisions were made on materials and appliances, we sketched-out what it would look like. Sketches are fantastic for being sure that our understanding of what a client wants is spot on. Here's the design sketch we made for the bar of the man cave.
The best part? Well, that's bringing our client's dream into reality - and hearing them say they love it!
